How it all began…

How it all began…

Our history goes back to 1850, when the tradition of fishing began in our family. Back then, we practiced the art of net fishing and brought the unique taste of “Steckerlfisch” to our customers’ plates. Times have changed and so have our methods. In the early 2000s, we saw a change in Lake Traunsee. The stock of reedlings and whitefish became scarcer and we had to adapt.

In the early 2000s, we saw a change in Lake Traunsee. The stock of reedlings and whitefish became scarcer and we had to adapt.

From that point on, we concentrated on char, which we source from carefully selected producers in the clear waters of Mauerkirchen near Braunau and other regions. We prepare around 500 fish for our guests every day. On Sundays in the high season, it can go up to 800.

Our outdoor seating area, a place where enjoyment and coziness come together, was opened in 2003 and today offers space for around 180 guests. For groups of up to 30 people there is also space under the roof on request.
